His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei had been in London for quite sometime now and he was also here because of the Royal Wedding. On, 1 May 2011, Sunday, he was really nice to invite all his subjects (all 1901 of us but ofc not everyone came but most did) whether studying or working here in the UK.
The event started as early as 9 am. It was held at London Hilton on Park Lane. We were told to register then we were invited to a very delicious lunch. Lunch finished at 11.30 am. Then, we wait for about 2 to 3 hours for His Majesty arrival, time to mingel with people we knew and meet some new friends.
His Majesty the Sultan arrived at around 2.25 pm, as soon as his Majesty arrived, the event officially started. The royal event began with the singing of Brunei National Anthem, followed by Doa read by Yang Berhormat Pehin Mufti, speech by Dayang Nur Amirah President of Brunei Students’ Union (a very good speech I would say), then speech by His Majesty, after that His Majesty recieved pasambah and lastly Islamic patriotic songs performed by BruHall soceity members. Then the His Majesty the Sultan meet and greet his subjects.
There are many memorable moments from the event, but the one I like the most was on His Majesty’s speech saying (this is not exact words) the students are Brunei’s national future assets, thats is why his government are willing to spend so much money on us. Terharu eh. He is doing all of this for us and for Brunei. Me and I’m sure other students are very grateful for this. Only Allah can repay his kindness and may Brunei’s future become a country that His Majesty envisioned~
Also present, Her Majesty Raja Isteri, Prince Abdul Malik and Princess Azemah.
The event finished at approximately 5 pm. For more information you can read from Brunei Times, here and here.

I just wished people would stop pushing around and be a bit more polite at this time. So I just gave up but the Sultan was still smiling and continue greeting for another hour. Bless him~
